Health & Safety

We support safe and healthy communities. Some initiatives that help keep our community safe are supporting the community cave rescue team, participating in and advocating for local road safety programmes and access to first aid by purchasing and making publically available an AED.
 

Te Reo

As an organisation, Discover Waitomo is well positioned to authentically embrace Maori culture. We are raising our knowledge of Te Reo and incorporating it into tours, correspondence and signage.

Capability

We foster the talent of our people. New training and development initiatives and the creation of progression opportunities will increase staff engagement. To date, this involves comprehensive internal training systems as well as external training opportunities with ServiceIQ, Peak Safety and the New Zealand Outdoors Instructor Association.
