Waitomo Glowworm Caves are just over 2 hours south of Auckland, 1 hour south of Hamilton, and 2 hours west of Rotorua. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves are situated 8km along Waitomo Caves Road, off State Highway 3.

The Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre also has Restaurant, Cafe, Exhibition Space, Theatre and Gift Shop.

The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. is located a short distance outside Waitomo Caves village. This is the booking and assembly point for all Black Water Rafting expeditions. It is also the home of the Long Black Cafe, where you'll find delicious food, great coffee and friendly Kiwi service.

The Long Black Cafe is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the high energy atmosphere as excited visitors depart and arrive from their various expeditions. Internet access and merchandise are also available. The legendary adventures begin and end at The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co.

Ruakuri Cave is situated in the Ruakuri Scenic Reserve.

Tours depart from The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co./ Ruakuri Information Centre (585 Waitomo Caves Rd), or the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre (39 Waitomo Caves Rd). There is plenty of parking at both departure points.

Set in the forest of the Ruakuri scenic reserve, the beautifully delicate formations in Aranui Cave create a place for quiet contemplation and a time to reflect on the wonders of nature.

Aranui Cave is located just 3 kilometres or a short five-minute drive (off Tumutumu Road) from the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Tours meet in the car park in the Ruakuri Scenic Reserve.
