The Legendary Black Water Rafting Company is New Zealand’s first black water rafting adventure operator. We’ve been sharing thrills and excitement since 1987, and have experienced guides who will take you safely through the stunning underworld of Ruakuri Cave.
What began as a special treat for a brave few has developed into a spectacular tourism attraction that gives visitors of all ages the chance to abseil, weave, jump, and float through a glowworm-studded subterranean wonderland below Waitomo.

With two exhilarating tours, namely Black Abyss and Black Labyrinth, to choose from, there is something to suit all adventurous spirits. The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. is New Zealand's first black water rafting adventure operator. And it's also the only tour that takes you through the incomparable Ruakuri Cave.
Each Waitomo Black Water Rafting expedition includes around 8-12 people guided by expert guides who will support and encourage you through the whole breathtaking tour.
