If you wish, your activities can incorporate expeditions such as Black Labyrinth or Black Abyss alongside a range of ingenious team building and problem solving exercises and games.

We also operate fun educational programmes for school pupils and teachers. These are designed to educate young New Zealanders about Waitomo's history and cave formations.

SAFETY

Your safety is our paramount consideration. We fully believe that if you feel safe, you'll enjoy your Black Water Rafting experience so much more.

Before any trip departs, we make a thorough evaluation of the potential weather and water level hazards that could eventuate. We also use the best possible equipment that is routinely logged, tested and upgraded.

The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. is proud to have attained Occupational Safety and Health Achiever status from the New Zealand Government.

CONSERVATION

The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. is a passionate guardian of Waitomo's unique caving environment. That's why, in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand Cave and Karst Management Association, we are committed to protecting and nurturing this incredible natural wonder.

Caves can be adversely affected when people visit them. Artificial lighting, pathways and changes to air temperature and humidity can alter the delicate eco-balance, eventually drying out and destroying the cave interior.

As a Department of Conservation licenced operator, you can be assured that all our tours are conducted in accordance with nature's best interests in mind.
