Just 5 minutes away from the Waitomo Glowworm Caves is Aranui Cave. With a natural cave entrance, it is the smallest and most delicate of Waitomo's three main caves. Take pictures of the most beautiful collection of stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and decorative formations.

WAITOMO GLOWWORM CAVES

Take a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Be amazed by the thousands of magical glow worms above as you glide silently by boat and see ornate cave decorations. Become part of over 120 years of cultural and natural history.

ARANUI CAVE

Take a journey through the forest to magnificent Aranui Cave. Take pictures of the prehistoric limestone formations. These stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones come in pink, white and brown colours.

Aranui Cave tour times must be pre-booked, however tours run through the Waitomo Glowworm Caves during opening hours.

Photography and video are not permitted inside the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, but is allowed in the Ruakuri Cave and Aranui Caves.
