Here are information about Registration & Race Day Schedule.
REGISTRATION
Time: 4:00pm to 8.00pm Friday before the race or 5:30am to 12:00pm on race day
Location: Waitomo Homestead (584 State Highway 3, Waitomo 3977)
• Pick up your race pack during this time. If you cannot make it on Friday, you can still pick them up on Saturday morning.
• Emergency Contact: We will check the phone number of your emergency contact at race registration. This must be a contact who can be reached on race day.
• Make sure you queue up in the right line (short, medium, long or super-long courses) – there will be signs above the registration desks.
• Make sure a volunteer records that you have received your race pack.
• You must indicate if you have decided to change your race distance (and pay the difference). If you downgrade in distance, a $10 admin fee still applies.
• We will have an info desk at the registration venue and will be able to answer any last-minute questions.
• There will be a race briefing just before each race starts on Saturday.
• 21km and 35km runners and walkers. Please bring your clean (i.e. non-muddy) shoes that you plan to wear on race day to register to be checked for Clean Dry inspection.
RACE DAY
– Parking and bus pickup is at the Waitomo Domain for the 6km, 22km and 35km courses.
– 6km and 35km runners/walkers finish at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre. It is a 10 min. Walk from the Visitor Centre back to the carpark on the Domain.
– 11km and 21km runners/walkers finish on Stubbs Farm. For 21km finishers, a bus will transport you back to the Waitomo Domain, where you have parked.
– All events start in waves.

TRANSPORT
7:30am – 8:00am start: Super-Long (35km) course
1. Drive to the start yourself to the Mangapohue Natural Bridge. Approx. 35 minutes from Waitomo. Note – someone will need to drive your car back – there is no arranged transport back to the start. or
2. Catch the free shuttle bus from the Waitomo Domain, departing from 6:15am onwards. Last bus at 6:50am. Registered runners and walkers only on the buses.
8:30am – 10:15am start: Long (21km) course
1. Drive yourself to the Mangapohue Natural Bridge. Approx. 35 minutes from Waitomo. Note – someone will need to drive your car back – there is no arranged transport back to the start. or
2. Catch the free shuttle bus from the Waitomo Domain, departing from 7:30 am onwards. Last bus is at 9:30 am. Registered runners and walkers only on the buses.
10:00 am – 1:15 pm start: Medium (11km) course
1. Drive to the start yourself at Stubbs Farm, 970 Te Anga Road, Waitomo Caves 3988. 25 minutes from Waitomo. This course starts and finishes on Stubbs Farm.
10:00 am – 1:15 pm start: Short (6km) course
1. Drive to the start yourself at Ruakuri Cave. Approx. 15 minutes from The Waitomo Homestead. Note – someone will need to drive your car back – there is no arranged transport back to the start. or
2. Catch the free shuttle bus from the Waitomo Domain, departing from 9:45 am onwards. Last bus at 1:00 pm. Registered runners and walkers only on the buses.
PRIZEGIVING
Prizegiving will be at approximately 5:00 pm at the Waitomo Homestead. Come and join us as we celebrate the 2023 event in all its glory.
